If there’s something strange in the neighbourhood, who you going to call? Well, please ring the police, but after you’ve exhausted all possibilities, you may well want to give the Ghostbusters a tinkle. Since the first film appeared in the mid-1980’s the general public have been enthralled by all things Ghostbusters, wheather that be the films, books, cartoons or games. Ghostbusters: The Video Game is the Remastered version of a game that first appeared on the last generation of the console back in 2009. But now this shiny new version is back on the streets, available on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Celebrating 35 years since the first film, I for one can’t wait to go back and play this exciting action-adventure, and Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered is available to download right now on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC, via the Epic Games Store.
Quoted by Dan Ackroyd (actor and co-creator) back in 2009 as the “third Ghostbusters film”, the game features the voice work of the original Ghostbusters and was written by Ackroyd and the late great Harold Ramis. There is the usual mix of trapping and hunting ghosts over a very unique storyline and campaign, as you become the new rookie on the crew, teaming up with the film cast that reunites the voices of Aykroyd, Ramis, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson as Stantz, Spengler, Venkman and Zeddemore.
For the price tag of £24.99, you can venture out into the streets of New York to meet the familiar cast of new characters and old friends. Slimer and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man are amongst those you will encounter on this epic journey. The original game was loved by fans and scored highly by critics, so it will be interesting to see how this Remastered version with upgraded visuals turns out.
Ghostbusters The Video Game Remastered is available right now on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC, with the usual digital stores providing the access; Xbox Store, PlayStation Store, Nintendo eShop and Epic Games Store.
